What will you be doing?
I will be the Community Director
on an American military base overseas with MCYM (Military Community Youth Ministries), in charge of the on base ministry known as Club
Beyond (aka Club in Young Life circles). Through the chaplaincy, we will be working with
military teens (both high school and middle school) to build relationships with them and help them as they deal with all of the difficult life situations they face: living in a foreign culture, having a parent on deployment, and leaving friends and moving on a regular basis.
Where are you serving?
RAF Alconbury in England, an Air Force base about 30 minutes west of Cambridge, and about a 45 minute train ride north of London.
How long will you be there?
As of right now, through September 2016. We will be coming back to the States about once per year for a week or two at a time to see friends and family.
How much is your annual budget?
$103,000 covers everything: salary, benefits, insurance, FICA, SS, pension, etc. We have to raise 100% of our annual budget.

Are you working for Young Life or MCYM?
Yes. MCYM is the umbrella ministry for its three partnering agencies: Young Life, Youth for Christ, and Life Teen. I will remain a Young Life employee, but under the direction of MCYM.
