So... where did the name "The Unbelievables" come from?Back in 2005, we had the privilege to do program at a Young Life camp in Florida named Southwind for a month of middle school camp. My good friend Scott Berry and I were "Captain Dangerous and Amazing Man," also known as "The Unbelievables." They were (obviously) pretty ridiculous super heroes that actually weren't super at all but just pretty average with some funny quirks who were ready to jump into the fray...
And that pretty much sums up who we are. Pretty ridiculous. Not really super heroes. Pretty average with some funny quirks. Ready to jump into the fray.
We also feel the name is appropriate on other levels... It's pretty unbelievable the blessings we have received from our Creator... it's pretty unbelievable that we're saved by grace... it's unbelievable how much Christ loves us... it's unbelievable the adventure he has called us into, being a part of his kingdom, serving him, and watching him use us despite our obvious lack of "super hero abilities."
